Safety with Professional Clearance Testing

The final step before re-occupancy

Clearance testing is the final check that lead abatement or renovation work left a space safe. It combines a visual inspection with dust wipe sampling analyzed by an accredited lab, and produces the documentation owners need for tenants, agencies and insurers. Under NYC rules, post-abatement dust wipe clearance must be collected by a party independent of the firm that performed the lead work. If Exit Lead performs your abatement, we coordinate an independent clearance tester; if another contractor did the work, Exit Lead can perform the clearance testing.

Standards we work under: NYC dust-lead clearance standards, HPD lead-based paint rules, NYC Health Code Article 173 and the EPA RRP Rule.
